What is PHP?

A Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides a more intensive treatment than an IOP program. Participants attend group treatment sessions for four hours a day, five days a week, allowing participants to return home or to a supportive environment outside of treatment hours. PHP offers a higher level of support and structure than an IOP program. In addition to the 20-hours a week of group work that this program requires, PHP treatment will also require participants to set aside additional time for individual therapy, treatment planning sessions, family/support persons therapy as recommended, and psychiatric monitoring.

default

What is IOP?

Clarity Clinic's Intensive Outpatient Program (PHP) involves participants attending group treatment sessions for three hours a day, three to five days a week depending on the participant's assessed needs. This allows IOP treatment participants to return home or to a supportive environment outside of treatment hours. In addition to the structured 9-15 hours a week of group work that this IOP program requires, participants will also need to set aside additional time for individual therapy and optional medication management.

Both PHP and IOP programs aim to stabilize individuals in need of additional mental health support by:

default

Providing comprehensive psychiatric and therapeutic care, teaching coping skills and recurrence management strategies, and supporting individuals in their wellness journey.

default

Serve as either a step-up for individuals who require additional support but do not necessitate the intensity of an acute care setting, or as a step-down from an acute care setting.

default

Offer an alternative to inpatient hospitalization.

default

Allows individuals to receive the support they need while maintaining connections to their communities and support networks.
