I believe each of us strives to create our story where we are validated, empowered, and at peace. As stories often go, we can get lost in the weeds of negativity, coming from the world around us – or even ourselves. Other times we can struggle to understand the text, images, and events right in front of us. As a therapist, I will work with you to help you create the best chapters of your life, writing a narrative that you can rely on for years to come.
My approach is motivated by the last 20 years of working with individuals, couples, and families, as an educator and then psychotherapist. My foundation in education and mental health drives my understanding of how you process information, and how you learn to accept or attempt to change. I had the honor of working with cancer survivors and co-survivors, as well as those who experienced the loss of a loved one. I also worked as a counselor and advocate for members of the LGBTQ+ community, and most recently with children and families, as well as couples in crisis. I see myself as a compassionate and straightforward therapist, who uses your existing abilities to tackle the world you live and work in. My approach is engaging and can be described as solution-focused. I will work with you to explore the overwhelming or traumatic experiences that you struggle with to move forward in your life. At the root of my values, is the idea that we can all create our own happy ending – we just may need some help getting started.
