From an early age, I have been captivated by how people think, feel, and connect. My passion for mental health stems from a desire to give a voice to those who feel unheard and to help them find strength through understanding and self-compassion. I believe that healing begins when individuals feel seen, valued, and supported as they are.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from McKendree University, double-majoring in Psychology and Fine Art with a minor in Leadership. My professional journey started in 2020 at Clearbrook, where I worked with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, earning certification as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP). These experiences shaped my belief in treating everyone with empathy, respect, and dignity.
With a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Judson University, I have provided therapy for children and adolescents at Streamwood Behavioral Hospital’s PHP/IOP Child Unit. I specialize in working with clients experiencing ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Depression and Anxiety, trauma, self-harm behaviors, personality and adjustment disorders, and co-occurring diagnoses. I am passionate about affirming care for the LGBTQIA2+ community, advocating for trans-affirming treatment, and supporting authentic gender expression.
As a humanistic and trauma-informed therapist, I practice a client-centered approach, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and creative techniques like art, movement, music, and sensory inclusion. I strive to create a safe, respectful, and empowering space for clients.
In my personal life, I enjoy combining my love of psychology and art, exploring how creativity aids healing and self-discovery. I also love attending art fairs with family, fishing, feeding ducks at a local pond, and pampering my Maine Coon cat, Mellow.
