Treating each individual holistically isn't just a practice – it's a profound journey that holds the key to unlocking truly personalized and transformative healing experiences. By probing the depths of our identity we pave the way for comprehensive well-being, where the interconnected facets of the self converge to create a tapestry of vibrant health and genuine fulfillment. I am a transplant to the Chicago area, and grew up in Western NY where I worked in a number of fields including journalism and education before moving to Illinois. I graduated from Elmhurst University with my Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science and went on to attend Rosalind Franklin University where I graduated with my Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. I am NCCPA board certified and licensed in Illinois, and bring more than three years of diverse clinical experience as a physician assistant to my practice. I first developed an interest in behavioral health during my time working in emergency medicine, where I was tasked with assessing and managing acute psychiatric crises. My clinical interests include substance use disorder and addiction treatment, and I strongly believe in the importance of harm reduction measures - I am a vocal advocate for treating addiction by focusing not only on medical intervention but also on minimizing the social and personal impact of substance misuse. I also enjoy working with adolescents with various behavioral health diagnoses including anxiety and ADHD in order to help guide and support them through their unique challenges. I look forward to welcoming you to Clarity Clinic and hope to be both a trusted medical professional to you as well as a source of solace and understanding for all patients under my care.

I was drawn to the field of psychiatry by my fascination with the mind and how it influences the person we become. Our mind not only affects our mental health, but also our physical wellbeing. It is crucial to include mental health as a normal part of healthcare to create a balanced quality of life. Utilizing a client-provider partnership and evidence-based practice, my goal is to provide compassionate, confidential, personalized, and exceptional care. I am here to listen, empathize, guide, and provide treatment during your mental health journey. I strive to foster an environment with professionalism, kindness, and respect at its core. I am dedicated to nourishing diversity and inclusivity. My hope is for clients to feel comfortable sharing their unique stories and experiences and trust me to protect that information. My education and clinical experiences have given me the tools to be a capable provider. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Illinois State University. I continued my education with a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. I received face-to-face clinical training in psychiatry, internal medicine, family practice, women’s health, and more. I am board-certified and licensed to practice in the state of Illinois. I was raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago; I am thrilled and grateful to be able to provide mental health services in my community.

I am a big believer in holistic care and the well-being of the entire individual. I love psychiatry for its ability to take care of a person as a whole and to improve his quality of life. I believe that the mind is someone’s most valuable asset and that it’s important to feel that, even when you are alone, you are in good company. I like to develop partnerships with my clients and work with them to develop treatment plans that align with their lifestyles and goals. This translates to taking care of the individual from all aspects of life and collaborating with my clients to see whether medication or therapy would be a good fit. Whatever the case, I am interested in getting to know the person first and to help be a partner in their journey towards mental and emotional well-being. I was born and raised in Honolulu, HI where I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. After leaving the rock, I completed my PA training at Northwestern University’s Physician Assistant program in Chicago, where I provided psychiatric care for patients in outpatient pediatric and adult clinics as well as the Cook County Jail. I am especially interested in depression, anxiety, addiction/substance abuse, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I look forward to partnering with you!

I became interested in psychiatry early on while studying psychology in college. From my early experiences in medical training, it became clear to me that I had a natural ability to listen and provide empathetic care for my patients. I believe in using evidence-based medicine and working collaboratively with patients toward a common goal. From living and working across the country, I have gained a diverse perspective and want to create a comfortable and professional relationship with patients. Providing education and counseling regarding psychiatric treatment is an important aspect of the field and I strive to accomplish it in every visit. Completing my Adult Psychiatry training at the University of Kansas Medical Center, I am interested in a range of psychiatric conditions. Primary interests include Depressive and Anxiety Disorders, as well as specific concerns within the LGBTQ community. Throughout my training I have been consistently told that my unique ability to make a patient comfortable and heard is one of my greatest strengths. I am offering medication management appointments, and am excited to work with my patients toward a healthier future.

I enjoy the challenges of learning and treating the brain and its complexities. The mind-body integration and how it affects our day-to-day lives is fascinating to me. As a psychiatrist, I understand the importance of keeping up with advances in science and medicine in addition to being practical about what will work best for the patient. I like to combine cutting edge medicine with care and empathy to form a personalized treatment plan for each of my patients to achieve the best results with a safe and compassionate approach. I graduated from the Southern Illinois University (SIU) after a 4-year residency training in Psychiatry and a 2-year fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training. I completed my 6-year medical school MD degree at one of the top three universities in India and then pursued research training at VCU in Richmond,VA and Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. I also trained at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS). I sit on various committees both at the state level and federal level for professional organizations including American Psychiatric Association (APA) and AACAP. I have also worked with Senators’ and Representatives’ offices with regard to healthcare advocacy and policy making. My clinical interests include various disorders that affect child mental health and the pediatric brain. I’m a double-board certified Physician and specialize in ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disabilities and neuro-developmental disorders. By staying up to date with the most recent developments in medicine, I’m able to provide effective treatment for my patients. Understanding their challenges and needs allows me to personalize their care and achieve results in reaching their goals. Helping my patients succeed is the most fulfilling part of my work.
