As a physician, I believe in treating the whole patient. I strive to provide comprehensive care to address the psychiatric needs of my patients. With my clinical knowledge in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, I work collaboratively with patients to create and implement a treatment plan that speaks to their individual needs. I completed my general adult psychiatric residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. During residency, I served as chief resident at The Center for Psychotherapies at St. Joseph’s Hospital. I graduated medical school from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. I treat adult patients ages 18 to 65 years old. I treat a range of psychiatric disorders in the adult population including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, postpartum and perinatal depression, student mental health, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I especially enjoy working with patients from diverse backgrounds. During the first appointment I focus on understanding the narrative of my patients, providing evidence based psychiatric care, educating my patients, and fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust.
I recognize that asking for help can be difficult, so I’m here to offer compassionate, collaborative care that empowers you to take the next step toward wellness. Every patient’s story is unique, so I prioritize a personalized approach to address your individual concerns and goals. By integrating evidence-based practices and promoting shared decision-making, I work to develop treatment plans tailored to you. This includes utilizing a thoughtful combination of medication, therapy, and self-care strategies to support your overall well-being. I earned my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Michigan. My passion for psychiatry grew during my clinical training at Michigan Medicine, where I worked with diverse child and adult populations in inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, PHP, and emergency psychiatric settings. As an NCCPA-certified PA with an active Illinois license and a member of the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants, I stay committed to the latest advancements in psychiatric care to help my patients achieve lasting wellness.
Treating each individual holistically isn't just a practice – it's a profound journey that holds the key to unlocking truly personalized and transformative healing experiences. By probing the depths of our identity we pave the way for comprehensive well-being, where the interconnected facets of the self converge to create a tapestry of vibrant health and genuine fulfillment. I am a transplant to the Chicago area, and grew up in Western NY where I worked in a number of fields including journalism and education before moving to Illinois. I graduated from Elmhurst University with my Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science and went on to attend Rosalind Franklin University where I graduated with my Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. I am NCCPA board certified and licensed in Illinois, and bring more than three years of diverse clinical experience as a physician assistant to my practice. I first developed an interest in behavioral health during my time working in emergency medicine, where I was tasked with assessing and managing acute psychiatric crises. My clinical interests include substance use disorder and addiction treatment, and I strongly believe in the importance of harm reduction measures - I am a vocal advocate for treating addiction by focusing not only on medical intervention but also on minimizing the social and personal impact of substance misuse. I also enjoy working with adolescents with various behavioral health diagnoses including anxiety and ADHD in order to help guide and support them through their unique challenges. I look forward to welcoming you to Clarity Clinic and hope to be both a trusted medical professional to you as well as a source of solace and understanding for all patients under my care.
I was drawn to the field of psychiatry by my fascination with the mind and how it influences the person we become. Our mind not only affects our mental health, but also our physical wellbeing. It is crucial to include mental health as a normal part of healthcare to create a balanced quality of life. Utilizing a client-provider partnership and evidence-based practice, my goal is to provide compassionate, confidential, personalized, and exceptional care. I am here to listen, empathize, guide, and provide treatment during your mental health journey. I strive to foster an environment with professionalism, kindness, and respect at its core. I am dedicated to nourishing diversity and inclusivity. My hope is for clients to feel comfortable sharing their unique stories and experiences and trust me to protect that information. My education and clinical experiences have given me the tools to be a capable provider. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from Illinois State University. I continued my education with a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. I received face-to-face clinical training in psychiatry, internal medicine, family practice, women’s health, and more. I am board-certified and licensed to practice in the state of Illinois. I was raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago; I am thrilled and grateful to be able to provide mental health services in my community.
I am a big believer in holistic care and the well-being of the entire individual. I love psychiatry for its ability to take care of a person as a whole and to improve his quality of life. I believe that the mind is someone’s most valuable asset and that it’s important to feel that, even when you are alone, you are in good company. I like to develop partnerships with my clients and work with them to develop treatment plans that align with their lifestyles and goals. This translates to taking care of the individual from all aspects of life and collaborating with my clients to see whether medication or therapy would be a good fit. Whatever the case, I am interested in getting to know the person first and to help be a partner in their journey towards mental and emotional well-being. I was born and raised in Honolulu, HI where I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa. After leaving the rock, I completed my PA training at Northwestern University’s Physician Assistant program in Chicago, where I provided psychiatric care for patients in outpatient pediatric and adult clinics as well as the Cook County Jail. I am especially interested in depression, anxiety, addiction/substance abuse, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. I look forward to partnering with you!
