My training at Baylor College of Medicine provided a strong foundation in both medication management and psychotherapy, including psychodynamic, supportive, and cognitive behavioral therapy—all of which I thoughtfully integrate into my clinical practice. I also lead Clarity Clinic’s Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) program, providing care for individuals whose mood symptoms have not improved with traditional treatment approaches. I completed my Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Evansville, where I trained across psychiatry, internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, emergency medicine, dermatology, behavioral health, and general surgery. These experiences shaped my understanding of how closely the mind and body are connected. Before specializing in psychiatry, I worked in hospital medicine and later in primary care at a Federally Qualified Health Center. I cared for patients with complex medical conditions and many who were also managing anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health concerns. These experiences strengthened my ability to approach patient care holistically and to support individuals navigating both physical and mental health challenges. My style is straightforward and collaborative. I’m here to help you understand your symptoms, explore what’s working and what’s not, and create a treatment plan that fits your life. I use evidence-based approaches, including medication management, lifestyle guidance, and education, always tailored to your individual needs. Dr. Elzokaky is a psychiatrist who is passionate about helping people improve their mental health and overall well-being. With a background rooted in both American and Egyptian culture, he values diversity and brings a unique perspective to patient care. He has a special interest in interventional psychiatry, including ketamine and esketamine therapy, and also offers faith-based counseling for those who wish to incorporate their beliefs into the healing process. His philosophy of care is centered on respect, collaboration, and empowerment—working alongside each patient to create personalized treatment plans that honor their values, goals, and life experiences. Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer and racquetball, studying and competing in chess, exploring recreational mathematics, and reading philosophy.

As a physician, I believe in treating the whole patient. I strive to provide comprehensive care to address the psychiatric needs of my patients. With my clinical knowledge in psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, I work collaboratively with patients to create and implement a treatment plan that speaks to their individual needs. I completed my general adult psychiatric residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. During residency, I served as chief resident at The Center for Psychotherapies at St. Joseph’s Hospital. I graduated medical school from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. I treat adult patients ages 18 to 65 years old. I treat a range of psychiatric disorders in the adult population including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, postpartum and perinatal depression, student mental health, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I especially enjoy working with patients from diverse backgrounds. During the first appointment I focus on understanding the narrative of my patients, providing evidence based psychiatric care, educating my patients, and fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust.

My passion for psychiatry grew during my clinical training at Michigan Medicine, where I worked with diverse child and adult populations in inpatient, outpatient, telehealth, PHP, and emergency psychiatric settings. As an NCCPA-certified PA with an active Illinois license and a member of the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants, I stay committed to the latest advancements in psychiatric care to help my patients achieve lasting wellness.

I continued my education with a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. I received face-to-face clinical training in psychiatry, internal medicine, family practice, women’s health, and more. I am board-certified and licensed to practice in the state of Illinois. I was raised in the southwest suburbs of Chicago; I am thrilled and grateful to be able to provide mental health services in my community.
