I believe that a therapist-client relationship is a partnership. Through the course of our journey, we will work together to set goals and develop a better understanding of your experience.
I received my undergraduate degree in applied psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and my master’s degree in social work from Dominican University. My professional journey began while working at a high-acuity residential setting that specialized in young adults navigating transitions. At that same agency, I gained valuable experience as a graduate-level intern, working with adults experiencing homelessness and pregnant and parenting teens. During my graduate program I also trained at a nonprofit therapy center, working with a wide array of clients from different walks of life. These experiences helped me develop a strong foundation as a therapist, person and professional.
I take an eclectic, client-centered and systems approach to therapy. I believe that it is important to collaborate and develop a plan that is tailored to your needs. Treatment modalities that I use in sessions include CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and IFS therapy. I enjoy working with adults and particularly young adults. To me, young adulthood represents an overwhelming, exciting, and scary time where significant change and growth occurs, and I enjoy navigating that process with clients. I also focus on vulnerability, men’s issues, relationships, trauma, self-esteem and grief. You are the expert in your story, and as you navigate it in therapy, I will walk beside you, empower you, and promote growth.
