“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you.”- Maya Angelou. I believe that everyone has the ability to heal and thrive through meaningful and interactive therapy. One of my biggest passions is hearing my clients stories and helping them overcome challenges, build resiliency, and learn new skills to reach their highest potential.
I understand that therapy can be intimidating and as a result I work diligently with my clients and their families, schools, physicians, and other members of the client’s community to provide support and consistency while respecting where they are in the therapeutic process. I offer a non-judgmental, warm, supportive, collaborative, and client-centered environment. This allows clients to grow and explore their strengths and values, as well as gain skills to overcome obstacles in order to lead a more meaningful and fulfilling life. My therapeutic style incorporates Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) which allows me to customize treatment plans to each individual.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Indiana University and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology Counseling Practice from Roosevelt University. My areas of interest and specialties include: anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, social skills, behavior management, school problems, adjustment disorder, self-esteem issues, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), parent training, and high functioning autism spectrum disorder. I have experience across a variety of treatment settings including outpatient therapy, school based services, partial hospitalization, and community based services for children, adolescents, and young adults.
