There is power in patience, and I believe that healing begins with understanding that every individual has the capacity for growth when given the right tools, support, and a safe and compassionate environment. With a background rooted in service, advocacy, and community wellness, I am committed to helping clients strengthen their emotional health and achieve lasting change.
My therapeutic approach is client-centered with a strength-based approach. In addition, I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based modalities such as breath work and meditation (and let’s not forget, amazing aromatherapy). I believe that the integration of the mind, body, and spirit is monumental in creating everyday coping skills and lasting growth.
My therapeutic experience has evolved throughout the years, as in the first eight years of my career, I worked with inner city middle school and high school students experiencing trauma and struggling with behavioral issues at school and in the community. A majority of my career has been spent in the justice system, where I have assisted individuals experiencing mental and emotional challenges.
As a former law enforcement officer, I have also supported colleagues and families in the field who were navigating burnout, trauma, and the complexities associated with working in law enforcement. My first-hand experience has strengthened my understanding of the body, as it relates to healing emotionally, mentally, and physically from daily and ongoing trauma and stressors.
While continuing my professional education and becoming certified in Gottman level 1, I have expanded my experience and enjoy working with OCD, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and postpartum. In addition, I’ve facilitated groups and worked with individuals who were in different stages of narcissistic relationships and experiencing active or past mental and physical abuse.
Therapy is a non-judgmental partnership where my client and I can create lasting relief and growth from challenges ranging from trauma or intrusive thoughts to daily life stressors.
