I believe that therapy is most effective when it honors the full complexity of a person’s life. I take a holistic, systems-based approach to care—one that recognizes how relationships, physical health, family dynamics, career, identity, creativity, and community all play a role in mental and emotional well-being. I believe healing is not just about addressing symptoms, but about cultivating meaning, balance, and deeper connection in every sphere of life. I am passionate about the connection between mind and body, and value practices like mindfulness, breathwork, meditation, yoga, exercise, tai chi, clean eating, and other body-based tools that support emotion regulation and holistic healing. Above all, I am committed to fostering a therapeutic space that is safe, nonjudgmental, and rooted in curiosity, where clients feel empowered to move at their own pace toward healing, insight, and transformation.
As an art therapy intern, I integrate creative expression into the therapeutic process to help clients explore their emotions, connect with their inner world, and foster healing in ways that go beyond talk therapy. I also embrace nontraditional creative outlets based on client interests —recognizing that creativity shows up differently for everyone. Whether clients are seasoned artists or just beginning their creative journey, I strive to make art therapy accessible, affirming, and attuned to each person’s unique form of expression. My training includes trauma-informed care, art therapy, and culturally responsive practices. I speak both English and Spanish (with fluent, though not native, proficiency) and strive to create inclusive, affirming spaces for all identities and lived experiences.
One of my core beliefs is that quality of life depends on the quality of your relationships—with others and with yourself. I work with clients to explore how their self-perception and emotional experiences shape the way they connect with others, and how to build more meaningful, nourishing relationships in their lives. My clinical style is warm, creative, and collaborative. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and expressive arts-based approaches. I work with adults, children, and adolescents (ages 6–18). I bring years of experience supporting pediatric populations, conducting research at the intersection of infectious disease, maternal health, and healthcare access, and leading mental health advocacy efforts across diverse communities.
