Bio

Hello, my name is Hattie. My educational background is in both Sociology and Clinical Counseling with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion in the mental health field. The process of healing through therapy as an adolescent was a catalyst for pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Counseling.

Throughout my education I have found my counseling style to be strengths-based and utilize tangible goals that allow both short-term and long-term progress. I believe that growth happens through small changes that empower the client. My role as a counselor is to create an environment where the client not only trusts me, but ultimately themselves. It’s important in my practice to see clients holistically and understand how various systems impact their experiences. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults dealing with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and adjustment disorders. I am also eager to expand my insight and experience working with families and couples.

My style is solution-focused and direct. I believe in sessions being client-lead and collaborative. I value a sense of humor, open communication, and honest feedback in the counseling relationship. You are in control of your own life and I am honored to sit alongside you as you embark on the journey of finding you and what you want out of life.
