Sometimes we feel stuck, restless, fearful, or alone, but the truth is there are people around us who can help us step out of negative space. I strongly believe there is a road to recovery and personal growth, which all starts with the willingness to try something different. It takes courage and strength to take a look at some of the obstacles life has dealt us, but I can assure you that we are all stronger than we give ourselves credit.
I find it is my personal and professional responsibility to be a guide and facilitator to help ease the journey to healing. I provide a judgment-free, safe space for those who are seeking a new path. Throughout our lives, we have inevitably faced situations or circumstances that may have impacted us at our core. Sometimes, it may feel familiar or easier to cast aside our self-doubts or fears and go about our lives. However, there is a way to face our concerns. Drawing from our life experiences, shining a light on what we have faced, and tapping into our bravery can carve a pathway to a new outlook on life. I emphasize the importance of a space that is inviting and warm, where I emanate a culture of trust. I ensure that the therapeutic journey will be shoulder to shoulder and value a therapeutic alliance that encompasses loyalty, flexibility, accessibility, and vulnerability.
I apply my Master’s of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago, as well as my professional experience in treating substance abuse, men’s issues, anger management, codependency, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, co-parenting, marital and relational issues, and life transitions. Through the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and acceptance-based interventions, I empower clients to take a closer look at how our emotions impact our behaviors and ways in which we can shift our perspectives. There is a road to a higher level of self-awareness, self-knowledge, and insight. I consider it a privilege to help clients usher in a newfound sense of self, well-being, and peace of mind.
