Bio

Throughout our lives, we are all faced with a variety of life stressors that impact each individual quite differently. Having a safe space to turn to for support can be beneficial so we don’t have to go through it all alone, as we work to overcome these challenges. I utilize a holistic approach to understand the person beyond what is bringing them in for treatment. This enables me to better understand the nuances of their life in order to help each individual navigate and find meaning from life experiences.

I value the counseling relationship as a therapeutic tool for change, emphasizing a respectful and safe environment. This allows my clients the space to self-reflect and process emotions in a compassionate and nonjudgmental space, in order to gain insight about themselves on their own terms. I appreciate the vulnerability of the therapeutic process and am mindful to meet the client where they are in terms of comfort level and readiness for change. I seek to support clients in building upon their inherent strengths and resiliencies to further empower them to be able to cope with and overcome life’s challenges.

I utilize a combined treatment approach specifically tailored to each client’s needs to achieve treatment goals. I integrate a variety of different therapy approaches in my work with clients including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused, Strengths-Based, and Existential therapy in order to create a more person-centered approach. I believe it is the client who is the expert on their life, so I seek to provide the most appropriate means of care through meaningful and collaborative treatment planning. Prior to joining Clarity Clinic, I worked with a diverse demographic client base including adolescents, adults, seniors, and clients with disabilities at a community mental health center. I have also worked with individuals who experience depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma-related disorders, adjustment to life transitions, career counseling, grief and loss, Borderline Personality Disorder, interpersonal relationship issues, behavioral disorders, and issues specific to LGBTQIA+ individuals.
