Bio

I believe that my life experiences have given me the compassion needed to be an effective therapist. Growing up, I was driven to heal the emotional needs of others. I was fascinated with human behavior in college, which led me to study Psychology in college. I received my Bachelor of Art in Psychology in 2008 from Earlham College and my Master of Social Work from Chicago State University shortly after. I am currently a Licensed Social Worker and enjoy providing therapy services to a large range of ages and populations.

I have experience as a case manager in the health care system, experience working with children in the school system and with teens and adults who need mental health services/resources. I enjoy providing my clients with tools and resources that they can add to their mental health toolbox. I believe that if clients are equipped with the proper therapy resources, they can refer to their tools after counseling services are complete.

I specialize in person centered approach, and I believe that clients should be the centerpiece when they work with the therapist to create an effective treatment plan. My goal as an effective therapist is to create a warm, welcoming and safe environment for my clients. The therapy modalities that I specialize in include Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy. My specialty populations include children, teens and adults, including helping others who suffer with depression, anxiety, grief, OCD and martial problems. When I am not at work, I enjoy traveling to different places, practicing yoga, shopping and reading.
