Bio

For me, therapy is a form of self-care. In the same way we go to our primary care physician to make sure everything is okay with our physical health, I believe we should do the same for our mental health. Therapy can be time to address concerns as well as a space to vent about something even if there is nothing specifically wrong. We all have a story to share and I consider it a privilege to be able to listen to your story.

My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science from Illinois State University, and I am currently in the master’s in Couple and Family Therapy at Adler University. My previous career was in childcare, working with children and collaborating with their parents and guardians in order to foster optimal development. I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 Trainings in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

I work with all relationships (couples, spouses, partners, families, friendships, and/or open relationships). I work with individuals as well taking a perspective of how the systems around you would be impacting your mental health. My approach includes elements from Emotion Focused Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Contextual Family Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. My specialties include premarital counseling, women’s issues, infertility and pregnancy concerns, life transitions, school stress, work/life balance, adjustment disorder, eating disorders, relationship issues, and racism issues. As a systemic therapist, my goal is to create a safe space that is inclusive for all identities and cultures. I aspire to create a welcoming, empathetic, non-judgmental, strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation of our work together. As someone who opens the conversation with curiosity, I will provide active listening and validation of my client’s experiences.
