I prefer a person-centered approach to care, focusing on each individual’s unique background and experiences to develop a thoughtful, holistic treatment plan. I focus on balancing the use of medication with psychotherapeutic techniques, tailoring care to meet each patient’s needs. I also view my relationship with my patients as one of collaboration, wherein we work together to move them toward their goals.
I am a board-certified psychiatrist. Originally from the South, I earned my MD from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC and completed my general psychiatry residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. I then moved to Chicago, where I worked as an inpatient psychiatrist at a local hospital.
Throughout my training and clinical work, I have treated a wide range of conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurocognitive disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders. I have a particular interest in caring for individuals with bipolar spectrum illnesses, as well as schizophrenia and related conditions. Across all areas of practice, I find fulfillment in helping patients achieve stability and well-being in ways that are personally meaningful to them.
