Whether it be in my own life experiences or through observation of my patients, I am constantly amazed and impressed by the resiliency of the human spirit. I became drawn to Psychiatry quickly during my time in medical school and fell in love with the practice of it as I watched how compassionate, empathetic, and holistic care can truly provide life-altering results. This is the atmosphere I strive to create in my practice here at Clarity Clinic.
I obtained both my undergraduate degree and my medical degree at the University of Missouri in Kansas City before completing my general Psychiatry Residency Training at the University of Missouri in Columbia. During Residency I was very involved in leadership, serving as both Chief Resident and also Wellness Chief Resident in my last two years of training. I feel so fortunate in my training to have worked with a diverse range of patients, including adult, child, and adolescent, postpartum and perinatal, student health, addiction, and psychotherapy clinics.
I strongly believe that psychotherapy is equally as important as medication management and want my patients to feel like they also have control of their care as we approach their treatment together as a team.
