Therapy is a collaborative space where you should feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported as you work toward becoming the person you want to be. It can also feel vulnerable, uncomfortable, and even a little strange at first -- pouring your heart out to a stranger is no small thing. Building trust and creating a space where you feel safe being yourself, at a pace that feels right for you, is a priority from the very first session. Authenticity, humor, and genuine human connection are always welcome in this work.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans, and I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. My background in anthropology has shaped a deep interest in understanding people within the context of their relationships, cultures, communities, and lived experiences.
I enjoy working with individuals at various life stages navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relational difficulties, self-esteem and self-worth concerns, and major life transitions. I am particularly drawn to helping clients explore their identities, better understand themselves, and build more fulfilling connections with others. Every person brings a unique story to therapy, and meeting each client where they are is central to how I work.
My approach is primarily grounded in Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), incorporating mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills where appropriate. My style is warm, genuine, and strengths-based -- and I view you as the expert on your own experience. Therapy does not have to feel stiff or clinical, and humor and lightness are always welcome alongside the harder conversations. Together, we can explore where you have been, understand where you are now, and work toward where you want to go.
