In my training and professional work, I believe that comprehensive and collaborative care creates the best circumstances for clients to thrive. I have extensive training in both psychotherapy and psychological testing to best support each individual’s unique strengths and areas of growth. Psychological testing can offer a window into a sometimes murky inner world, shining light on characteristics that allow for growth and adaptive change. We all have questions about our inner worlds and the way we think, and psychological testing can be a tool to try to answer some of those questions and allow insight into and understanding of an individual’s complex needs. Through assessment, I can tailor recommendations to best support ongoing growth and change, allowing the client opportunities to gain and utilize individualized treatment recommendations.
I also specialize in the use of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), while maintaining a client-centered approach. In addition to psychological testing, I specialize in working with severe and persistent mental illness, trauma, mood disorders, and substance use disorders. I believe in working with my clients to develop achievable, effective, and meaningful goals for treatment, and focus on the sustainability of changes my clients make. It is important to me that clients feel empowered to make their own choices and decide for themselves what is best for them. When not at work, I enjoy cooking, reading, playing video games, and spending time with my family and two kitties.
