Healing is a process, and my goal as a therapist is to support you in that journey; however, it might look. My trauma-informed approach is grounded in being non-judgmental, warm, and curious. My clients are typically in the LGBTQ community. Some of the difficulties they may need help navigating include self/body image, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, traumatic life events, or just coping with the stressors of everyday life. My practice is always sex-positive and supportive of polyamorous/non-monogamous relationships. I also take a harm reduction approach that emphasizes your safety and continued growth.
As a licensed professional counselor, my specialization is in creative arts therapy, a unique form of psychotherapy that utilizes creativity and artmaking. This can include crochet, music, painting, sculpting, theater, or even doodling. You don't need to be an artist or good at art. It is just an additional tool that we can use to help process, explore, regulate, and communicate. For some, traditional talk therapy can be limiting, and the creative process opens up more possibilities. I also incorporate techniques from Dialectical and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to create sessions centered on your needs. I believe the therapeutic space to be a collaborative one where together we will figure out what works best for you.
