Nothing is more frustrating than going to the doctor’s office and feeling like our concerns weren’t heard, especially when it comes to our mental health. I decided to go into psychiatry to change this narrative. I strongly believe that taking care of our mental health is integral to our physical health and our overall well-being.
During sessions, I build trust with my patients by being empathetic, non-judgmental, and fully present throughout our time together. I strive to create a safe space for patients to feel comfortable being vulnerable with me because I believe vulnerability is the key to connection and the key to progressing toward the patient’s goals together.
I am a licensed and nationally board-certified physician assistant. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Food, and Exercise with a minor in Medicine in Society at Virginia Tech. I then completed my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. I have training and experience in treating conditions such as, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, and sleep disorders. I am an LGBTQ+ ally.
