Hello! My name is Allison. When working with clients in therapy I strive to create a safe and judgement free environment where clients feel heard and seen. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri Baptist University as well as a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa. My clinical experience includes working in community mental health settings where I have supported adolescents and adults through cognitive-behavioral therapy, group work, and individualized modalities. My experience in group work includes anger management and psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) groups. I am passionate about working with adults of all ages and varying stages of life, who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationships. When meeting with clients I use a client-centered approach that involves integrating other approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), skill-building, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I realize that seeking mental health support can sometimes be scary or overwhelming which is why I ensure that my role in the therapeutic process is to approach clients with empathy, unconditional positive regard, and encouragement.
