Hello! My name is Allison, and I'm so excited to have the opportunity to work with you on whatever journey you're currently navigating. When working with clients in therapy I strive to create a safe and judgement free environment where clients feel heard and seen. Something, I am passionate about is working with adults of varying ages and stages of life, who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationships. Seeking mental health support can sometimes be scary or overwhelming, which is why I ensure that I approach my clients with empathy, unconditional positive regard, and encouragement. Meaningful change happens when clients feel supported in understanding their experiences, developing effective coping skills, and taking steps toward growth at their own pace.
When meeting with clients I use a client-centered approach that involves integrating other approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), skill-building, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). My clinical experience includes working in community mental health settings where I have supported adolescents and adults through cognitive-behavioral therapy, group work, and individualized modalities. I am drawn to this work because everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and capable of growth, even during life’s most challenging times.
I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri Baptist University as well as a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa. My clinical experience includes working in community mental health settings where I have supported adolescents and adults through cognitive-behavioral therapy, group work, and individualized modalities. My experience in group work includes anger management and psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) groups.
