Relationships are key to our happiness and health. I work with all relationships (couples, spouses, partners, families, friendships, and/or open relationships). I work with individuals as well taking a perspective of how the systems around you would be impacting your mental health. Connection with others is as necessary as our need for food, water, and shelter. As a therapist who uses Emotionally Focused Therapy in practice, I help individuals, couples, and families approach their emotions, sit with their emotions, rather than avoiding them and help each person recognize the other person’s needs in the face of difficulty. I have also completed Level 1 and Level 2 Trainings in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, which is a research-based therapy that I aim to use to help couples build a happy and stable foundation for their relationships. As a systemic therapist, my goal is to create a safe space that is inclusive for all identities and cultures. I aspire to create a welcoming, empathetic, non-judgemental, strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation of our work together. Whether you are coming to therapy alone, with your partner, or with a family member, my goal is to create a sense of safety so you can show up as your most authentic self, not just in the therapy room but in your day-to-day life as well. As someone who opens the conversation with curiosity, I will provide active listening and validation of my client’s experiences. My areas of expertise: couples, premarital counseling, interracial relationships, multicultural families, parenthood, infertility and pregnancy concerns, infidelity, divorce, remarriage and/or blending families, and singles who are navigating dating, going through breakups or are unsure if they should stay or leave a relationship.
