Therapy can be a powerful tool to heal, try new patterns, and achieve personal goals. Perhaps lifelong difficulties are no longer manageable, new transitions or sources of stress have emerged, or it is time to process and let go of past negative experiences. Whatever the case may be, these challenges do not have to be faced alone.
I am passionate about empathically empowering my clients to grow as individuals and overcome challenges using both traditional talk therapy and art therapy techniques. Using a relational, strengths-based approach, I aim to create a space that allows clients to safely explore, express themselves, and work through difficulties. This journey is collaborative and primarily guided by the client with my support. I believe in the strength of a trusting, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship to provide clients greater agency to successfully move toward their goals.
I utilize an integrative perspective for treatment that draws primarily from holistic Adlerian and person-centered therapies. However, I also apply aspects of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Adding to these approaches, art therapy can access emotions and perspectives that may not have readily surfaced through verbal processing alone. I have experience working with older children, adolescents, and adults who are dealing with: life transitions, self-esteem, identity issues, anxiety, depression, bipolar, trauma experiences, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and ADHD. I work with clients from diverse backgrounds and am LGBTQ+ affirming.
