I believe that every person has a story worth telling and that therapy can be a place where those stories are explored with honesty, care, and curiosity. My goal is to help people recognize the meaning in their experiences and to use this awareness as a foundation for growth and healing. I approach counseling with warmth, openness, and a genuine respect for your individuality. Creating a safe and supportive environment is central to my work—I want clients to feel accepted, heard, and empowered to speak freely about what matters to them. I view the therapeutic process as a collaboration, where we can uncover strengths, identify patterns, and build tools to face life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University Chicago. My professional experience includes working in community mental health, private practice, and within a prison setting, where I supported individuals navigating complex emotional and life challenges. Coming from a mixed cultural background, I understand how cultural differences, traditions, and expectations can shape the way mental health is experienced. This has inspired my commitment to breaking down stereotypes around mental health and creating a space where all perspectives are welcomed and respected. My counseling style is integrative and tailored to each person’s needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as mindfulness-based approaches. This style allows clients to focus on the present while also addressing how past experiences and future goals influence their well-being. I specialize in supporting individuals who want to strengthen their self-esteem, improve communication, better understand relationship dynamics, and manage stress, anxiety, or depression. I also have experience supporting individuals with OCD and Bipolar Disorder. I integrate mindfulness and meditation practices in therapy to help clients connect with themselves in a deeper and more balanced way. At the core of my work is a belief in human resilience and the ability to create meaningful change. I see counseling as a space where individuals can explore challenges, build on their strengths, and take steps toward living with greater authenticity and fulfillment.
