Seeking out therapy shows strength in character. This holds true for people of all ages and backgrounds and is the first step to improving your motivation, decision-making skills, and coping mechanisms. Whether you are working through your response to a recent event or improving self-awareness, we will collaborate on an individualized treatment plan.
I feel that clients most often have the answers they are searching for within themselves. It is my job, as the therapist, to guide them down that path of discovery by providing a supportive and comfortable environment in which clients work towards both establishing and meeting goals. Through my approach of supportive interaction, motivation, mindfulness, and behavioral therapy, I strive to help clients recognize their strengths and then use those strengths to build coping skills and solutions to challenges and stressors that are impacting their daily lives. I cater my approach to the individual through collaborative treatment planning using a variety of therapies including, but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Sociology, my master's degree from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at the University of Illinois-Chicago, and am a member of the National Association of Social Workers. I have worked with individuals across a number of age groups with a focus on, but not limited to: alcohol and substance abuse, behavioral disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, anger management, aging, caregiving, relationships, vocational stress, and mood disorders. I strongly believe that by setting realistic goals and developing effective skills, the success clients can achieve is endless.
