For as long as I can remember, I have been intrigued by the study of psychology and the lens it has allowed me to view the world through. It is important for me to emphasize that I am a person who is driven to continue to learn and maintain a deep desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. However, I recognize that seeking help can be difficult, which is why I work to continuously recognize the courageous steps taken by my clients to work towards bettering their mental health.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Tampa and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. In working to achieve my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology, I have spent the past three years of my career working with children, adolescents, and adults in multiple settings. I established the basis of my training within the education system, where I worked to foster the socio-emotional development of children. I eventually transitioned into diagnostic work with adults in a college counseling setting. I later began working as a behavior health counselor for individuals struggling with mood, anxiety, and eating disorders in a residential treatment facility.
I specialize in psychodynamic therapy and use a multicultural approach. The unique blend of psychodynamic and multicultural perspectives allows the complexities of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to be explored through intersections of identity. However, I work to draw from a range of evidence-based modalities because I am passionate about tailoring the therapeutic process to fit each individual’s needs. My specialties include mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I believe in a collaborative therapeutic space that seeks to assist individuals in navigating complex dynamics that will assist them toward personal growth, resilience, and empowerment. When I am not working or studying, I enjoy reading, pilates, facetiming my sisters, traveling, and watching movies.
