“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.” – Desmond Tutu I have my undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University and then went on to complete my master's in social work from Dominican University. After graduate school, I spent my time working as a group therapist, individual therapist and working in an inpatient/emergency department psychiatric setting. I have experience working with adolescents, adults and couples. I have worked with clients with a wide range of presenting issues such as those individuals who have been impacted by trauma, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and depression. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. Sessions may be hard and challenging, but that is when we know it is working. My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and use of Dialectical Behavioral skills. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Most importantly, I believe in a holistic approach, when all parts of our lives are addressed, it is much easier to feel at peace. This is your time to heal. When I am not at work, I enjoy working out, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with my 1-year-old labradoodle.
