Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren’t always comfortable, but they’re never weakness.” Brené Brown
I am a strong believer that the most courageous thing you can do is to understand your own story. I aim to create a safe environment and build a trusting, nourishing relationship where you can start your journey of healing and growth. my present emphasis is providing support to adult survivors of trauma. I utilize and implement modalities that are individualized to ensure they will be the best fit for you, using strength-based and trauma informed care, I use varieties of techniques that stem from CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-focused CBT. In addition to my experience working with individuals in addressing trauma, I have extensive experience working with adults addressing ADD, OCD, mood and personality disorders, self-esteem, suicidality, self-harm, depression, anxiety and more.
I have experience working with individuals, families and groups of diverse populations. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with a concentration in Trauma and Crisis Intervention. Before this a Obtained my MD from Garyunis University in my hometown Benghazi, where I started my career path as a psychiatrist. I was treating patients in a war setting, when I realized I needed to learn more about trauma and psychotherapy. Since then this because my calling in life and not just a career path, my experience involved trainings in different settings and countries where I worked in private practices, hospitals, clinics, awareness raising programs in topics such as domestic violence-sexual trauma and gender-based violence, community practices and private practices.
What I love most about therapy and working with individuals and families is seeing you thrive and taking the lead of your own journey, through collaboration, empowerment and creating a safe space I will help you lead a full meaningful life.
