Ana Avilés López, MA

I am deeply passionate about creating a compassionate, safe, and affirming space for clients as they navigate healing and self-discovery. I hold a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez. My background includes community-based research focused on trauma, resilience, and social justice.

My early work with survivors of gender-based violence and communities impacted by natural disasters laid the foundation for my ongoing commitment to supporting individuals through periods of difficulty and transformation. Clinically, I specialize in working with adults navigating complex trauma, anxiety, identity exploration, and grief. I have experience providing both individual and group therapy for trauma survivors, and I approach each session with empathy, curiosity, and a deep respect for each person’s unique lived experience.

My therapeutic style is relational and collaborative, drawing from trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), existential therapy, logotherapy, and inner child work. I am dedicated to fostering a culturally responsive and affirming therapeutic environment. Se habla español.
