Mental Health needs are unique to each individual and family, and I believe it is important for clients to connect with a provider who exhibits compassion, empathy, and understanding in their individualized care. My goal is to provide a haven for children and families to feel supported and comfortable expressing their needs. My experience has shown me that children may feel fearful in new situations, which is why I prioritize interacting with them on their level in an empathetic and compassionate way. My approach allows me to help children and their families reach optimal mental clarity. I understand the courage it takes to seek assistance during difficult or challenging times, and I commend you for taking this first step. I am passionate about supporting others through their journey because everyone deserves access to a mental health care team who provides exceptional care and compassion for their clients.
I work closely with a team of dedicated therapists to create an individualized care plan focused on the unique concerns and needs of each client. This care plan includes age-appropriate therapy modalities and, if appropriate, medication management. I spend time listening to my clients’ needs and collaborating with them to establish goals.
During my time working in healthcare, I had the honor to work with children and families from diverse backgrounds in various medical settings. As a Child Life Specialist, I had the unique opportunity to learn common medical, emotional, physical, and developmental needs of children of all ages. I ensure that the children I work with feel safe and reassured in new situations, and I enjoy developing positive relationships with them and their families. I received my Master of Physician Assistant degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed a post graduate fellowship in Pediatric and Adolescent medicine. I have spent my career as an Advanced Practitioner providing care to children, adolescents, and their families in various settings to include primary care, pediatric specific outpatient urgent care centers, and school-based medicine. I am passionate about the mental health and psychosocial needs of the clients I serve, and I am especially conscious of the unique concerns and challenges often faced during the different stages of childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. I would be honored to work with you on your journey to clarity and mental wellness.
