Caring for the mind and spirit is just as important as caring for the body. Sometimes, this part of the self can be overlooked or under-nurtured. My role as a helper is to join you on your journey and provide a safe space for you to explore your vulnerabilities, as well as enhance and develop strengths along the way.
As a therapist, it is my privilege to create an open, empathic environment that supports you working through challenging circumstances. You are the expert of your own journey and the path from surviving to thriving is within your reach. Through the exploration of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, we can illuminate your path forward while processing your journey thus far. Equipping you with the skills needed to manage stressors on an ongoing basis is a key part of therapy.
I utilize several different trauma-informed treatment modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and family systems therapy. Each client presents with unique circumstances, and so I work to understand and use the treatment models that work best for you. I work with children, adolescents, and adults that experience anxiety, depression, identity struggles, chronic pain, low self-esteem, and grief/loss. I have a special passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma or are female-identifying persons with reproductive health concerns. Previously, I have worked with children and adults of varied cultural backgrounds coping with personality disorders, crisis situations, substance abuse, and involvement with the criminal justice system.
