I believe each individual has the ability to change. Each individual has the ability to rise up to overcome the challenges that life presents. Sometimes this can be very hard. Therapy is a unique and collaborative process between a client and a therapist. I value the unique perspective and strengths of my clients. It is my aim to help each individual client utilize their strengths and develop additional skills to promote growth, change, and resiliency for whatever challenges lie ahead. I want to be able to assist you in finding those solutions. Previously, I worked at Bella Terra Nursing/Rehab as social services director. I am a licensed Social Worker, I have experience working with adults, children, and teens struggling with a variety of emotional struggles such as mood and anxiety disorders, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, and personality disorders.
The field of social work chose me because I did not start out in college thinking I will be a social worker. I actually went to Law School in NY, but as I was there I realized that this field was not for me. I looked into social work and learned that it is such a broad field and I could do anything including providing clinical therapy to individuals suffering from mental health issues. I feel as a clinician it is an honor to meet various clients who deal with daily life struggles to share their problems with me. I believe I am always learning from whomever I come across and I just want my clients to know it takes courage and strength to be able to meet with a therapist and to take that first step to make a change.
