Bio

At some point in life, we all go through a hard time. I believe in meeting people where they are, and walking with them to a place of hope and healing. I try very hard to empathize with patients as they are suffering from mental and emotional pain. I know it is not easy to schedule a psychiatric appointment. Therefore, it is important for me to listen and learn about your struggles and lifestyle.

Believing that patients should be included in decisions about their care, I will engage you in the formation of your treatment plan. We will discuss your goals, expectations, risks and benefits. Because medication is only a part of improving your mental health, I also provide brief psychotherapy and discuss concerns related to nutrition, sleep, and exercise. If needed, we may discuss additional labs, tests and referrals.
Our cultural and familial experiences shape who we are, so I enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds. I work with both adolescents and adults. In particular, I feel compelled to help people facing various life transitions including those who are high school and college students, parents, seniors, and the LGBTQ community.

I completed my physician assistant studies at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. I am certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and hold a speciality certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) in psychiatry. My special interests include anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders, PTSD, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and migraines.
