Bio

Cura personalis, which means to care for the whole and entirety of a person, through the mind, body, and spirit, is a fundamental value I bring as I work collaboratively with clients to explore how these components are interconnected in the healing, therapeutic process. This value has been an integral foundation to my education and training that I’ve gained from my B.A. in Psychology at the University of San Francisco and my current pursual of an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling education at Northwestern University.
As a female-identifying Korean American with an immigrant background, I have a particular affinity in exploring the ways different identities play a role in cultivating unique experiences, as well as access and perception of mental health concerns. I hold a keen passion in exploring the unique and intersectional ways our identities can shape our person and specifically, the different ways mental health can be impacted from such experiences.

Mental health areas I have an ever-growing passion with working with include: bipolar disorder, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, (racialized) trauma, (minority) stressors, women-related issues, LGBTQ+ identity exploration, relationship issues, life transitions, as well as grief and loss. When addressing such mental health concerns, I value incorporating culturally competent and adaptive approaches from CBT, DBT, to Psychodynamic, within a multicultural and feminist-oriented framework.
Through Clarity Clinic, I look forward in supporting and collaborating with clients in their cura personalis therapeutic journey in growth and healing!
