I have dedicated the majority of my career to working in culturally diverse neighborhoods. Realizing that due to cultural stigmas, many people desiring a constructive change in their lives were not benefitting from the use of mental health resources, I worked to help them overcome those stigmas and realize change. My background enables me to be an extremely effective Clinician who is comfortable empowering people.
I am a seasoned Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Drug Abuse Counselor. I have substantial experience working with clients who are in need of understanding, support, and self-help skills for positive changes in their lives. I am able to assist clients who suffer from diverse symptoms and behaviors that have decreased their optimal level of functioning and happiness.
I specialize in treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, work-related situations, substance abuse, and dual diagnosis. I utilize evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy but also draw from a variety of methods to create a tailored client-centered approach for each client and situation. I have worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric hospital departments; in a group practice as a Licensed Psychotherapist; as Intake Assessment Clinician for a drug intervention; and individual counseling sessions as a Senior Employee Assistance Professional.
