Bio

While living in a quickly changing and stressful world, we can find ourselves experiencing disruptive emotions. Managing these emotions is challenging. Often, it can feel daunting to start therapy and discuss uncomfortable feelings and the stressors we endure. I work to meet you where you are while providing a safe, non-judging environment and helping you reach your goals.

I offer a person-centered, strengths-based, and empathic approach to therapy. I understand each individual is an expert of their own life; therefore I follow your lead. I provide a safe environment to explore emotions, thoughts, and behaviors while working with you to identify your strengths, values, and goals. As a therapist, I develop coping skills with you to empower you to live your best life.

Everyone is different so there is no “one therapy fits all.” I develop treatment plans that are tailored for you. I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), person-centered therapy, and strengths-based therapy. I have previously worked with adolescents, adults, seniors, the LGBTQ+ population, minorities, and those struggling with depression, anxiety, and/or grief and loss.

I have a Bachelor of Arts with a Social Work degree from Hope College and a Master of Social Work degree from Aurora University. I have worked with juveniles on probation, adults in a clinical setting, senior citizens, individuals, and with groups. I have both a passion and extensive experience with older adults.

I look forward to meeting you!
