The need for caring, compassionate mental health providers is greater than ever. I was drawn to the field of psychiatry after watching family and friends struggle with their mental health. Whether it was the negative stigma surrounding mental health, no appointment availability at psychiatry offices, or hesitation towards therapy and/or medication, it was tough to see my loved ones not receive the care they needed and deserved.
I strive to deliver a unique, patient centered experience at every visit. I maintain a nonjudgmental environment that promotes open communication and active listening. I take the time to deliver exceptional patient education about diagnoses and medications as I believe this is an important aspect of each visit. I want patients to leave appointments feeling like they were heard and are not alone.
I am a licensed and nationally board-certified physician assistant. I received my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Then I went on to complete my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. I started my career in family medicine where my passion for mental health grew. I have training and experience in treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, and sleep disorders.
