Life can be complex and filled with numerous challenges, problems, and painful, traumatic events that can be difficult to manage on our own. We all experience such issues, but we are unique in our struggles. I am passionate about helping clients develop the coping skills to build resilience and feel empowered to direct their own lives and achieve their personal goals.
I believe that psychotherapy should be client-centered and from a strengths-based perspective to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space to allow for each individual to express themselves and to be heard without concern for criticism or judgement. Through a client centered approach, I recognize that each individual is an expert on their own life, and that this is the foundation of an effective therapeutic alliance. I am focused on empowering clients through a strengths-based perspective to help them live their lives to the fullest. I also utilize a holistic approach in working with clients, as health and behavioral health issues are often intertwined. Through this approach, I help clients find solutions and develop personal goals to illicit self-growth and improve their quality of life.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with adults and older adults coping with issues such as: chronic mental illness, chronic illness, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, chemical dependency, and adjustment disorder. In working with clients, I utilize a combination of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Supportive Therapy, Mindfulness, and Solution Focused therapy to help clients achieve their defined therapeutic goals and to improve their overall well-being. Every client is unique, and I collaborate with them to create their own unique treatment plan.
