Bio

We all encounter challenges and lessons in our lives. When we experience severe stress or trauma, it is not uncommon to feel stuck, unmotivated, or down. My passion is to create a safe space for clients to express their feelings or talk about difficult experiences without worrying about privacy or judgment. I work with clients through the treatment to help them find healthy perceptions of themselves and feel heard, encouraged and accepted.

I provide brief psychotherapy (mainly CBT, psychodynamic, and mindfulness approaches), and my treatment plans are individualized for each client. I am interested in treating a wide array of issues, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive and related disorders, eating disorders, and personality disorders. Being born in Japan and educated in the U.S., I speak native Japanese and I have been working with patients from a wide range of cultural backgrounds about issues related to multi-cultural relationships, communication, and adjustment/cultural difference with diverse populations.

My educational background includes MA in Clinical Counseling Psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
