Life is full of overwhelming experiences, both internal and external. The most challenging yet rewarding decision a person can make is to give space for healing and understanding of those experiences. Stepping into therapy is stepping into a world of exploration, with you as the focus. Engaging in therapy is one of the most courageous steps a person can take on their journey to healing and self-acceptance.
It is my understanding that the client is the expert on themselves in the therapy room. Each person brings with them their own life experiences and perceptions. I use a person-centered therapeutic approach to meet each individual where they are at and move forward from there. I believe the best way I can support you is first by exploring and understanding your needs and personal goals. I’m trained in talk therapy, as well as art therapy. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-based, Mindfulness, and Expressive Arts Therapy modalities into practice.
I have vast experience working with diverse populations of people. I work with adults, children, and families. I have a background working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, mood dysregulation, life adjustments/transitions, physical disabilities, grief, and substance use.
I received my Bachelor in Psychological Sciences from Purdue University, with a minor in art & design. I then received my Master of Arts in Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University here in Chicago. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Provisionally Registered Art Therapist (ART-P).
I consider working alongside the individuals in this community to be the greatest joy of my career. Through this profession, I constantly feel inspired and encouraged by the strength and resilience of the people I get to meet and work with daily. I believe the therapeutic relationship between the counselor and the individual is paramount, grounded in non-judgment and empathy. My personal goal is for your therapeutic growth to transition into your life and provide you with peace and ease as you continue to navigate your journey.
