My purpose in life is to support my clients on their journey to achieve empowerment, strength, mindfulness, and safety. I act as a constant reminder that mental illness does not control or define who you are. I strive to create a safe space that will allow my clients to be who they truly want to be.
I personally know first hand the strength it takes and the frustrations that come with having a mental illness. Negative stigmas have surrounded the mental health community for ages and takes a lot of strength to seek therapy. Each time we meet is another chance for self exploration, mindfulness, and cognitive restructuring. I infuse psycho-education into each session to aid in understanding what their mind and body is going through and what it is trying to tell them, allowing them to overcome anything obstacles that come their way.
Therapy is not a one size fits all. I look at the client as an individual and what method fits them. Some of the evidence based approaches I use are: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Strengths based, Solution Focused, and Play Therapy. Previously, I have worked with adults, children, and couples that have experienced: divorce, separation, paternity, and/or post dissolution issues relating to children, anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, stress, ADHD, and anger management. I have led parenting groups that educate individuals on healthy parent-child relationships and how they are fostered. Every day is a new challenge and I am ready to go on this journey with you.
