A person coming to the conclusion that the ways in which they have been coping through life’s challenges is no longer okay for them is revolutionary. Daunting, yes, but revolutionary nonetheless. It creates an opportunity to change, evolve, or maybe simply try something new.
Holistic mental health includes therapy that considers the wholeness of ourself, our relationships, and the systems in which we have come from. We cannot ignore that all facets contribute to our whole self. It is my intention to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and compassionate therapeutic space where a client feels comfortable to be their true self. I believe you are the expert on yourself and it is my role to explore with you how you define yourself and your values. I work with clients to explore their life story and the meanings they have drawn. Using a collaborative approach, I help to explore conscious and unconscious thinking patterns. I will never assume I know what is best for you. Instead, I will humbly remain curious about your experience, honor the feelings you’re sharing, and reflect back to you your own narrative. This has the power to shine light on where you have the power to change.
I work with clients using an integration of psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, inner child work, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and yoga-informed psychotherapy. No one client gets the same type of therapy and I empower my clients to use their voice to make changes if needed. I have a history of working with adult clients struggling with eating disorders, self-hatred, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and suicidality/self-harm. I also have experience working with at-risk youth. I am incredibly passionate about the work I do and believe firmly in the power of humanity and compassion as a catalyst to self-realization and growth. It is an absolute honor to be a part of someone’s healing journey and I honor the bravery in each client to be vulnerable with me.
