Sammie Rubin attended Oakland University, receiving her degree in psychology. She graduated from the Adler School of Professional Psychology with her Masters of Arts in Counseling, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health.
Sammie is dedicated to helping her clients empower themselves and obtain a better quality of life. She addresses such issues as anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem, and coping skills with individuals and couples. Her strength and evidence based approach to treatment utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Sammie believes that life circumstances are often out of our control, but that we can learn tools to react effectively to such circumstances. She guides her clients in learning more productive thought and behavior patterns to
1) reach desired goals,
2) develop an improved understanding of themselves, and
3) ultimately bring about positive change in their lives.
