Rachel Shapiro is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Welfare from The University of Wisconsin – Madison. She spent time as a Therapist at The Family Institute at Northwestern and The Counseling Center at Columbia College Chicago, and as a Case Manager at Trilogy Behavioral Healthcare.

Rachel has experience working with young adults and adults in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, life transition issues, self-esteem issues/eating disorders, trauma, adult children and parent relationship issues, emotion regulation issues, stress management, and suicidality/self-harm. She aims to create a safe, collaborative, and compassionate therapy environment to empower clients and help them achieve a more balanced and positive self-concept. Rachel uses an evidence-based and integrative framework, especially utilizing psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral techniques, to support therapeutic growth.
