Nicole Rothman, LSW | Therapist


Nicole holds a License in Social Work in both New York and Illinois State with her Master of Clinical Social Work degree from New York University and an undergraduate degree from George Washington University with a major in Organizational Psychology. She spent time as both a Social Worker and a Guidance Counselor at an Elementary School addressing a variety of school-age concerns, and as a Social Worker and Case Manager for adults and families surrounding grief, loss, and communication.

Nicole specializes in clinical therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. Nicole brings dynamic, evidence-based approaches to her clinical practice, namely Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychoeducation, and Mindfulness. Nicole works with individuals coping with issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, mood, self-esteem, communication, coping, relationship, and problem behaviors.

Nicole practices from a person-centered, holistic approach, eluding significant value on the therapeutic relationship in order to initiate an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion.

Pediatric Therapy:

Over the past 8 years Nicole practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Play Therapy with children to combat various negative behaviors as well as to assist in strengthening communication and relationship skills. Nicole’s experience with Children ranges from mentoring and tutoring school-age individuals, being lead day-camp counselor, as well as practicing as the Social Worker and Guidance Counselor in and outside of Elementary Schools. She notes that Solution-focused and Evidence-based approaches are pivotal in addressing anxiety, self-awareness, positive peer interaction and correcting problem behavior in children.
